The art of speaking, known as rhetoric, was one of the supreme disciplines in ancient Greece and was also part of the trivium. Linguistic design and thus the use of rhetorical devices played an essential role in crafting a meaningful and convincing speech. The following program presents examples of rhetorical art in music.
